I have a couple suggestions for Stardock/Fences.
1) RENAME ENHANCEMENT
When you rename a shortcut, you must not change anything in the target path.
I had a shortcut with "C:\Documents\KEEPASS 7-20-2022\KeePass SYNC 8-15-2021.kdbx" in the target path.. I didn't need anything but KEEPASS in the shortcut. After some trial-and-error, I realized that I could simply:
^ right-click the shortcut
^click Properties
^change the Name in the General tab to KEEPASS
^ click OK
I wonder if it would be possible for Fences to give the option for the user to do it through the Fences interface.
2) CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE IMAGE
I have dozens of shortcuts that I haven't used for months, even years. One could make the case that those shortcuts are NEVER going to be use again. But I take the position that one can never be certain about that. I'm considering 2 options for this.
a. The image that accompanies the shortcut is an essential element. But it does take up a lot of space. If the image could be made smaller, that would reduce the amount space a shortcut would use. I wonder if there's a way to reduce the size of the image.
b. Define multiple desktops. You'd have one desktop for current production needs, a second or more for backup purposes. Both would not change the look of a shortcut in any way, including not re-sizing the image.
3) COMMENTS
A shortcut by definition is functional, designed to initiate some process. But someimes descriptive information about the procees can be helpful.
What do you think?
