CUT-AND-PASTE DOESN'T FIX IT
Cut-and-paste won't work because it tries to paste it with the same name and it doesn't let you changes the target name. The 2 options are SKIP and CANCEL.
The program that I'm trying to create a shortcut for isn't in the Program Files or Program Files (x86) so creating the shortcut in the first place is not straightforward. I'd rather not spend my time doing that again. Instead, I did several copies and renames to a temporary file to get the shortcut onto the desktop "folder" as you instructed.
So, it's on the desktop. The copy-paste into the fence still fails.
WHY CUT-AND-PASTE?
Perhaps you'd like to explain why cut-and-paste to the desktop is supposed to make a difference; I'd feel a bit less frustrated by all of this I've had to go through and it still fails.
WHY IS THIS NOT CONSIDERED A BUG?
In any event I'm still unable to get the shortcut into a fence. And Idon't see how I'll EVER be able to put a shortcut into a fence. And I don't see how this is not regarded as a bug, since I was able to do it before installing version 4.
EXPLAIN STEP 2
I will do the step 2 "All document files move to selected Fences" etc." after you explain: 1.Where do I go to define rule? 2. What does this particular rule do? I mean, we aren't moving files to fences, we're moving shortcuts, right?
