I'm having problems with Windowblinds hanging or freezing for minutes at a time before the system becomes responsive again. I have a dual monitor setup with Ultramon 2.7.1 also installed. Windowblinds used to work perfectly on my machine but now with versions 5.51 AND the new version 6 it seems that randomly whenever I try to access a resource related to the filesystem (e.g. clicking a browse for files button, opening my computer, navigating to All Programs in the Start menu, etc.) it will sometimes hang/freeze for times ranging from 30 seconds to five minutes - the mouse is still able to move around and I can usually do other things just the program that's accessing the resource seems to be waiting for some kind of timeout. I've googled, tweakui'd - everything. But I can't get it to work. Yesterday I reinstalled Windows XP from scratch hoping that that would get it to work but still no-dice. I have Version 6 installed right now with the Windows XP (Silver) theme selected. When the built-in Windows theme is active I do not experience system freezes however as soon as I select a custom theme the freezes begin.
EDIT: Well, I uninstalled Ultramon and I've been using Windowblinds 6 for a few hours now without any freezes so that seems to be it. So for anyone in a similar situation I hope this post gives you something to try.
Further EDIT: Well it's been over two days now and not a single hang/freeze so the lesson is WindowBlinds and Ultramon don't mix.
