Having Sub=Domains on a shared account

Hi!

I am wondering what I am doing wrong with my code.
I put in all the right info I think but it won't work. Here is the knowledgebase link:

and here is what I have as the code I use for the default asp page in text form

anybody know what I am doing wrong?

If you check your site you'll see that the code is shown. It does not appear to be parsed. Ergo, either the filename has the wrong extension and thus is not parsed or your server simply can't parse VBScript.

Thanks craeonics. I would have said something sooner but I wasn't able to access the site (firewall problems).

OK, the reason what it isn't is because I saved it as an html file, but even when I change the extension to asp, the vb script still doesn't work.

My web host isn't offering much help other than the knowledge base link they gave me.

I assume I am to put the VB code within the index page at the top, but It does not work. The example page given doesn't provide much help as in how to exactly use the code so I am stuck as to where to place it.

I've changed the default page to asp, but as you guys can see, it still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? How do other create sub-domains on there accounts?

I know see an error when I visit http://www.joeknowledge.com which is good, since that means the code is getting parsed by the server before being sent out.

The error says: "The @ command can only be used once within the Active Server Page" and looking at your code, the only @ I see is on the first line. Perhaps that same line also appears in MAIN.htm. If so, remove it there.

By the way, I don't know anything about ASP or how to set up subdomains on IIS. All the subdomains I ever set up where done via DNS itself. So I'm must guessing here.

hey, thanks again! I am working it out with the host company. they are trying to make it so that people can set up sub domians on there account. I asked them about the code that they provide to make sub accounts happen and I await their responce.

As for the @ code, it not anywhere in the original code at all. I am not sure why that comes up.

Well, at any rate at least my portfolio is up. one day people will actually be able to see it
