whaww
what i am trying to do is edit this by hitting that edit button and color it with a graphic program but i have no luck with it and have no idea what i am doing wrong
Are you saving the edited image in your graphics program, then doing a Force Image Reimport, and then applying the skin again?
this is what i am trying to do to color like whats in that picture
When you hit edit, most likely she image is converted to a .png and opened in paint.net. These converted images get stored in a separate folder inside the skin folder. You will need to reimport your recolored image into skinstudio. Click on the arrow button to the right of the "build high dpi image" button and choose "import" from the dropdown menu. The import path should be: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\skinname\TempPngs. When you've specified that folder the first time, skinstudio should choose it by default next time.
