Win 10 icon numbering system, which icon is which?

How can I fill in icon images in older sets which are missing the newer OS icons.  It seems that many icons have duplicate images in the original Win 10 icon set, so how do I know which one to replace? Do I replace them all? Are there any differences? I'm having the hardest time with live folders

Is there any tutorial for creating complete icon sets for Win 10?

No one, as yet, has created an icon package for the new version of IP. Is Icon Developer still a viable program for this?

In IconPackager 10, you can create icon packages by clicking "Customize" in the left side menu, then click the "package builder" button at the bottom of that menu. Then you drag and drop your icon design in the appropriate spot that that icon represents. When you have completed loading all your icon designs , click "save as" and name your custom package and save to the default location of your other iconpackages. If you want to view an already created package to see what a particular icon represents, at the top of the Package Builder click on "Open" , then navigate to the location of the icon package folder, then click on the folder. Inside the folder is the executable for that package. Click on it ,then click "open" and that entire package will automatically load into Package Builder and you can see each icon individually and what it represents.        --Ace---

Ah, thank you sir. I will give that a try. Pretty handy for sure.

In Win 10, when I go to "Devices and Printers" there are icons there which are not being represented by the current IP set. Are there just some icons which cannot be changed? I didn't see the appropriate icon in Package Builder from this package nor the Win 10 icon either.

 

Side question, are you still doing icon sets for IP?

I have found that some default Windows icons simply will not retain the change when you try to replace them. I have no answer as to why this is. Some custom iconpackages by skinners also do not include a replacement for all of the Windows default icons, including packages that I have designed as well. Sometimes it just seems like too much unnecessary work since many people don't really care about the incidental icons that they don't ordinarily see while using their computers on a daily basis. They tend to focus more on the standard ones that they see all the time on their desktop. In regards to your final question, yes, I am still designing new iconpackages for later release. My work was interrupted when I began having severe vision issues due to macular degeneration in my eyes. Happily though, the injection therapy with the latest cutting edge medicine has caused a miraculous improvement in my sight. I'm slowly getting back to full speed so keep an eye out for great things to come.          --- Ace  --
