Cursor Help

Please can someone help me out. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit I have Cursor FX loaded, I have everything downloaded fine I can click on the apply button and..........nothing. I've tried everything and I cannot get it to change cursor. My window blinds are running great the wallpapers brill, but my cursor just sits there........a little white arrow, boring, sad and mundane. I have tried deleting the programme snd reinstalling it, I have tried loading the XP version, all to no avail. Please, please, please can some one help me.

Steve, posting twice rarely gets more attention...only splits responses.

From the product documentation, HERE . For further info, contact support@stardock.com  It does run on W7 32 bit. Try double clicking the apply.

 

System Requirements

  • Windows XP (32-bit) or Windows Vista (32-bit).
  • 100 MB free drive space.
  • 512 MB RAM.

Steve I am not sure if this is your problem but there is a little bug with CursorFX and you need to double click the cursor you want to apply. It happens to me too. I have to apply the cursor twice to get it to show up.

i can verify the bug on win 7 64bit, cursorFX works fine but sometime you have to apply the cursor twice or even 3 times. Hopefully this is fixed soon

That'll do it. Click apply twice. That works for me also.

Yes, definitely need to click twice to apply a new cursor.......... also, when I start up my system, the cursor loads fine and then goes back to the standard windows cursor. I then have to click on MSN messenger to get it to reload the theme I have applied! Bizarre!!

Thanx to all of you for taking the time to try and help me out. Unfortunately even clicking the apply button 20 times does nothing, well actually thats not strictly true, if it's an animated cursor the animations stop while the Cursor FX control panel blinks the same number of times I had clicked the apply button. It looks as though it is trying to change cursors but something is over ruling it, I have checked through all my settings and cannot find anything that I can change that will solve this problem.

Oh and yes BoXXi you're right, that is Bizarre!!

I'm open to any suggestions that you may have.

Here's an idea: In your Start Menu, type on Object Dock Plus 2. Then, right click on it and choose "Troubleshoot Compatibility". Go through the windows and choose "Run in XP Mode". See if that helps.

Thanks for your suggestion DrJBHL I tried what you said then did it for XP service pack 2 and XP service pack 3 still nothing. I just don't have any idea what could be causing it. But I will keep trying and if I crack it I will let you know what the problem was. thanks again.

sjyaw ...I build alot of cursors andinstalled CFX on at least 2 dozen Win7 PC's last year as of yet I have had no win7 64 bit PC's that defaultly worked exactly right.

Doc is actually very close here ....Try right clicking the CFX icon (start panel or Desktop) then> Properties>compatibility>check the check box "Run this program in compatibility mode for" >Windows XP service Pack 3...

(not usually necessary for 32 bit)

Then reboot and do as stated above  hit apply wait 1 sec hit apply again everything should be fine!

Hi, thanx for the advise theAVMAN but alas no joy. Cool Windowblinds by the way. I tried the way you suggested then I tried it the way you suggested with slight differences and still nothing. It looks like its trying to work but nope nothing. I just don't know what else to do. If you fancy a trip up to the Orkney Islands you could always pop in while your passing, we could even put you up.....as long as you fix me wee puter. lol. thanx to you and DrJBHL for trying to help me out, if I ever do get it up and running I'll let you know.

The Orkney's eh? well, I live down in Yorkshire and I have always fancied a trip to the Highland Isles, but with the weather you are getting up there I think I will stay put!!

I am a different Steve, Steve Pareles.

I am experiencing the problem every one has already reported for W7 64 bit. However, it did work a few days ago.

In response to your request for a screen image of the problem, there is nothing to take a snapshot of.

There are no error messages. The apply button is ignored.

Guess you have heard that a lot and maybe even tried it yourself. What is the reason and the fix?

I would gladly pay for the program if you could assure me it works.

Weird; the husband runs Windows 7 64-bit and he has no problems with CursorFX except some of the cursors (usually deleted afterwards) will lock the computer up. Otherwise, everything runs great.
