Sure do... a bad hair day and they go on a violent rampage putting others at risk.  Guess that's why I'm so opposed to anyone and everyone having the right to bear arms... too great a risk for multiple fatalities in too short a time when somebody has a gripe or indegestion and suddenly hates/blames the world

Yeah, I know, I'm gonna get flamed by those who believe it is their right to bear arms to defend their homes, but honestly, even responsible gun owners have unnecessaary fatalities that could have been prevented had there been NO firearm on the premises .... eg, the little girl who shot her 3yo brother recently.  Tell me that makes sense... and when there are more guns on the streets than locked safely away at home, it's a recipe for disaster and too many innocents suffer

Sign of the times unfortunately. Attitudes are quickly warped beyond reason. Whether they are caused by problems at home or just someone having as starkers put it a bad hair day is up for debate. This is one of the reasons I left Brooklyn N.Y. and moved to Pa. This sort of thing was nearly an everyday occurrence. I don't mean with the schoolbus but the level of violence it represents. That was back in the late eighties early nineties. Sirens you could hear 24/7. Police cars ambulances and paramedics rushing here and there in response to one emergency or another. It was sickening.
There was a shopping mall five blocks from where I used to live. The police kept patrol cars there round the clock and always was there a bus (ambulance) standing by. Rarely do I hear or see that where I'm at now. I'm just glad your folks were in the house and safe at the time.

I got pissed at one of my bosses once.... got a nail gun and nailed his toilet door shut (about 50 nails) after putting a couple of laxettes in his hot chocolate at morning coffeee break. The desired result, being that he crapped himself cos he couldn't gain entry.

The world isn't an easy place to live and people are bound to have issues, especioally when greed in the corporate asnd banking sectors has created a new class of poor and impovished people struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.

However, having issues is one thing, taking those issues violently and aggressively out on others is another.  I've had a shit of a life in some respects, some of it my own doing, some by my first wife, and some of it through external forces, but I NEVER once thought about taking my frustrations and disappontments violently out on others... not even when a certain gov't department made my life an unnecessary living hell for six months.  There was a time when I thought: "Someone should blow those bastards up!", but that was briefly thinking it in frustration... acting upon it was far too radical and something I could never do.

Like the time I nailed the boss's toilet door shut and put laxettes in his hot chocolate, he had me pushed up against a wall and was yelling all kinds of threats and obscenities just inches from my face, not to mention the menacing clenched fist in close proximity to my right temple.  Most of my workmates said stuff like: "I would have ripped his head off and stuffed it down his throat." or: I'd have beaten the bastard senseless."... but not me!  I saw a practical joke in it and caused him to have a bit of an accident in his underwear.  Hehe, he knew exactly who it was, but instead of firing me he apologised for his outburst and we got on great from there on.... cos no real harm was done.

Sure, a good person can snap under pressure, but a wise and good person seeks help before they do harm to themselves and/or others.  Sadly, however, there are too many who seek vengeance for perceived injustices against them, real or not, and take up some kind of weapon to exact revenge....often harming the innocent along the way.

Whatever happened to those age-old and very wise ideologies: Look before you leap; Silence is golden; Assess all the consequences before you act; Measure twice and cut once??????

What I read further in the article was this guy worked for a Cinci based company. Great. Sheesh.

The  first time I was homicidal, I didn't believe in evolution. I believed in God the Father, that Jesus Christ His only begotten son was my personal Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit dwelt in me.  It was the idea that this personal relationship with the Divine gave me special insight into what was "right" and "wrong" and gave me forgiveness for my weaknesses for all eternity, that made me somehow a little bit more superior, and put me in the same mindset as Hitler...that I was doing the work of God by exterminating these demon seed off the planet, that I was merely His handmaid carrying out God's Will, that scared my husband at the time to realize he needed to get me out of that situation before I carried out the plan that God had placed on my heart, and end up....well, pretty much like that guy from Merriam, Kansas, who shot Dr. Tiller last Sunday in the foyer of his church.

The wolf within, is a lot less malignant than an angry God.
