Yes, the fragility of the HDD is kind of concern, once it's on a CD it's much safer, though I'd expect the recorder to be pretty delicate itself as well.
I wouldn't risk doing that at the wedding though, a number of issues could emmerge, from things like:
"Where are some of the pictures i have on that CD"
to
"That's the best shot on the wedding - too bad it's so out of focus". Out of eyes - out of heart
The camera is great.
The guy I ordered the camera initially blew it - I'm not sure why but he didn't really seem very concerned about the sale.
The complete oposite was the other guy I called like 12.00 (4 hours before the wedding - once the shop I was initially going to buy it from will not deliver it on time) and just if he had one in a shop in Poznan (my city).
I was quite shocked since I first only called him to ask about the camera being somewhere on stock in Poznan. Delivery at 16.00 (as he initially proposed) was too late - since the ceremony started 16.30 - I gave up. Though I called him second time to talk about delivery another day - he was all like "We better hang up, my cooperate is probably already calling you - your camera is on the way". Mind that I didn't even gave him my phone number (Caller ID worked for him though) or actually ordered it.
I had my camera delivered by his cooperate from accros the country running and shooting (he needed to load the batery before he left) within 3 hours!
