Cheers all

I just wondered if my posts were beginning to be seen as being 'unfriendly' towards Stardock or Wincustomize?
No, not really. Often they seem to be oppositional just for the sake of being opposing...aka 'Devil's Advocate'. I don't know why anyone really 'needs' to champion such a cause...but it's certainly not 'unfriendly'....simply 'different'....
Hi Paul,
In the rawest sense I'd hope, that wouldn't be the case, although I understand how the 'Devil's Advocate' viewpoint could be formed.
While I do like exploring stuff that hasn't quite resonated with me, I value keeping faith with the whole being relaxed thing and enjoying Wincustomize as a member. It's important to me that I am clear my role as a member, doesn't include the thing of rushing in shouting "That's not the way to do it" & "if I worked here". etc... I don't think that's a healthy, useful or welcome approach to take. .
I mostly post based on information that has appeared at Wincustomize or Stardock. Whether it's something I want to applaud or something I'd like clarification around. I don't for example, feel a need to go looking for information off site, just to help create a 'challenging' scenario for it's own sake.
I think there's only one subject where I've done a specific bit of research off site and used it to directly challenge how something was interpreted, That was non-skinning, and a follow up to a subject that was specifically put to the community for a response. It wasn't something I undertook or applied during the process of the original community discussion. Wherever I feel I may caused an individual member, admin, etc. to feel uncomfortable, it is my practice to follow up with a PM and make myself available to that person for comment. So far I've been fortunate in that folks have been very graceful with their replies.
While I may think at the point of posting that it appears something could be done differently to achieve some additional advantage - I try not to assume my opinion is the only valid one and make sure I'm available for challenge, and where I understand I've been wrong, I make an effort to own that. - I accept that on all counts, I may not always be successful,.
I would hope that if you picked on any post of mine, and asked me why I posted it - I would have a cogent & reasonable reply. I certainly stand ready to answer to that, either here on in a PM.
At the same time, I posted this thread in recognition that just because a thing can be posted, even argued for, it doesn't mean that it necessarily should be, or that my style of posting is the most accessible or even acceptable. A New Years audit seemed to make sense and I'm grateful to have had folks offer feedback - it's been useful.
