Hello all. Much thanks for the welcome back. It would seem that my wife and I are back for a while. Life on a kibbutz was wonderful in many ways. Tranquil, yet invigorating, casual, yet full of purpose. The one we stayed on was a farming community, so the work was honest and rewarding.
Deborah enjoyed the kibbutz too, but it was more old hat to her. In her mid teens she had lived for 2 years in Israel, also on a kibbutz, and by mid July she was starting to get bored and wanting to get back to journalism. She tried to find something locally there but it wasn't happening.
So we made the decision to return. We never did sell our home here in Canada, (perhaps, subconsciously we knew we'd return), but instead I had my sister live here. She had been going through a spot of trouble in her personal life and this house gave her a place to get away from it and sort some things out.
Now to the task of reconditioning myself to the North American lifestyle. Hopefully, the old rut(s) that I was once in and which led to our leaving in the first place, will not return. We realize it takes a conscious effort every day to avoid such traps so we will need to be on our toes.
I don't know if I found any of the answers to the great questions in life while on my small journey. I wish I could say I had but that's not the case, but now I don't really think the answers to those questions are as important as the enjoyment one gets on the journey to find them.
As for skinning. I certainly still enjoy the process. It's an exercise in discipline that I enjoy doing, and the end result is always rewarding. Most likely, I will start doing it again.
Again, thanks to all for the warm welcome. I will surely see you all around the community and especially here at WinCustomize.
