Well there is at least one committee that is trying to do this in a hundred years. In the nineties NASA explored this and concluded it was not feaseable. What the problem is would shock everyone. Remember we don't need light speed, we could settle for almost. They have concluded that we have the technology for both the orion, or the dadulus projects the problem is we can't do it by any other methods. It wouldn't be required, but we even could use a matter, anti matter mixture. Apparently we couldn't get above a big rocket. The actual purpose was to of the daudelus was to replace the orion concept only to go back to it. The reason were not traveling to alpha centaur I in a few years is because of money. If the world got together we should be able to do it. America know how, but can't afford it.
