I'm trying to create video tutorials for Elemental: Fallen Enchantress, but am an absolute beginner. My first attempt is ... well ... pathetic. For some reason, the video produced is all of maybe one frame per second, very choppy and quite low resolution despite specifying a 1024x768.
I used Camstudio to try to record E:FE (running E:FE in a 1024x768 window), then tried to edit the video in Windows Movie Maker. I tried using WMM's snapshot to basically create pause screens I could talk over to explain the options on those screens, but for some insane reason WMM takes video snapshots at ultra-low resolutions, so low the text on the screen is unreadable, and its clear when the paused snapshot continues onto the actual video, that the video was higher resolution. :/
Anyhow ... is there any good free and/or open-source software for recording video and audio from computer games that is friendly toward older systems (mine is an AMD Phenom II 9600, which is a quad 2.4 GHz core, with an AMD/ATi HD4750 video card, probably 4 or so years old)?
Thanks in advance for helpful replies.
