I will delete a skin if the download count is not up to my standards, Top Hat for instance is on the verge of being deleted and I've asked Spencer to remove this blind from the GIUC.
that's a shame.... I actually like Top Hat a lot more than your other blind.... I enjoyed putting together a screenie for it.... even put a Top Hat in it.. link...
It has lovely soft colouring... it's easy on the eye.... very usable for projects and working in Word etc... not everyone wants bells and whistles....and certainly not all the time..
The more simple the blind... the more complex a wallpaper and accessories you can put with it without it looking over busy...
I would hate to think that all the hoopla that some skinners carry on with about their download counts and top skinner status stuff... patting themselves on backs and blowing own trumpets.... has made you discontented with your own download numbers when you don't think they're up to par... there are always people with different taste considerations...
Take this into consideration.... how many people will download a hyped up flashy blind for curiosity sake only to find it's not particularly usable and hit the delete button... I often do.... fancy doesn't always equate to friendly to use for any considerable time... A good clean usable skin is destined to stay on someone's hard drive a lot longer...even though the download numbers might not look as exciting...
I've always found those 'Top Skinners' and 'Top Skins' titles to be misleading... should read 'Top Downloads'.... while ever there are Masterskins produced from our talented crop of Masters with potential free download numbers unknown... it cannot be an accurate reflection of 'top skinners'... it also depends on how much time an individual has on one's hands to skin.... some skin prolifically day in day out...and others with outside committments can only utilise after work and weekend hobby time... As always.... quality over quantity should be valued...
