I'm curious about how Theme Manager works -- and will get to a specific question in a bit ...
I have one of the INFAMOUS Intel 915GM chipset desktops, meaning, it will NOT do Aero, because Intel designed it before Aero came out. So, when WindowBlinds (v6 or v7, I don't remember which) first came out after I acquired the Tablet PC, I tried it -- but it was rife with problems. So, after some searching through forums far and wide, I found some Themes on DevianArt that worked with Windows Basic (not Aero) and found a theme tasker as well. I have been using those for a while.
Then, I renewed my OD subscription, downloaded WB 7.3 and installed it. Works really well -- I'm impressed.
So, I thought I would see what Theme Manger does -- wrongly presuming that it did the same thing as WB. Found out how wrong I was!
Thus, I believe that Theme Manager will allow you to manage Windows Themes -- right?
To get the DevianArt themes to work, not only do you need a patch or third-party theme tasker, you also need to replace the default aero.msstyles file with the one from the theme. This requires some work (Take Ownership), and as the file MUST be named aero.msstyles, you obviously can't jump from theme to theme without some additional work.
So, my question is -- does Theme Manager take this into account and automatically replace aero.msstyles with the xxx.msstyles file from the theme you select?
