In using the Vista Sidebar gadgets, I've noticed you can set the opacity from 20-100%. If you set it below 100% the gadget will become semi-transparent until the mouse passes over it, smoothly fading the gadget to 100% opaque until you mouse away.
Now, I've seen programs for XP in the past that let you set the windows transparent, etc. but they've never had this mouseover opaque option that seems built right into Vista. Is there a program that would let me attach this feature to programs running under Vista? So that they work exactly like these gadgets automagically do?
The closest I've come to is Nimi, in beta, in that it will turn all the inactive windows transparent and the active one opaque, but that isn't as smooth and elegant as what I'm seeing with Windows gadgets.
So how would I get this to work with Messenger, or explorer, etc.?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I've searched all over google and found TONS of "make your windows transparent" but nothing with this mouseover (what used to be called Sun-mouse) effect.
