Link Share has a ton of links to well know companies to choose from. I personally have an account there and I have to say so far so good. You won't make a hundred or less the first month or 2 but as your site becomes more popular there is more of a chance to earn some funds.
The best way to really earn anything is to relate the selling items to what your site is about. For example one of the affiliates is for wheelchairs so if you know your visitors need wheelchairs or use them then that is the affiliate for you.

And others. In the future I will post how I am using them and what has come out of it. Together we can come up with better statagies for using web affiliates and how to market them.
