can hardly believe how fast my computer is now.
I built a fairly nice rig back in July/09.
The Basics consist of an Intel Core i7-920 (overclocked to 3.4Ghz) and 6 GB trichannel DDR3 RAM 1600.
BUT... the best performance boost by far, is the SSD hard drive.
After doing a bit of research on SSD's, I found out how expensive they can be.
But a unbelievably low GB to $ ratio of $2.30 US/GB, I found the OCZ Agility Series 120GB SATA II MLC SSD.
This SSD has TRIM support and has a "wiper.exe" tool to keep it fresh.
The advertised speeds are 230 MB/s read and 135 MB/s write. But after 6+ months of fairly heavy use, I have benchmarked some results I am extremely happy with...
I have heard and read how SSD's tend to slow down over time, but I am not really seeing the downside. Am I wrong?
On the SSD, I have put my Windows 7 64-bit OS and my program files. All other stuff ie. (downloads, pictures and movies) are on a regular Seagate 500GB HD.
