A Vista SP1 would be nice about now, to correct driver issues among other bugs. I have a brand new Vista Home Premium set-up with a dead Hitachi 320gb SATA after using the system for 2 weeks. I'm back to my two IDE drives, which work fine. My 7950GX2 kicks butt, and the latest forceware drivers seem to work fine...SLI enabled. I've run into problems with selecting multiple files (Ctrl A) at times. I have to reset my folder options to their default settings to help with that problem. Overall, Vista is working pretty smooth for me and the Core 2 Duo E6800 is lightning fast. 2gb Corsair helps speed things up as well. Gaming: I don't play Quake 4 anymore, but I run UT 2004 with graphics cranked to "Holy S!$T" settings. The game is fluid...absolutely no issues with gaming graphics (5.9 rating)!
Bottom line: I say MS make a Vista SP1/SP2 patch, which will turn your Vista set-up into stable and reliable system MS had originally intended. Hmm, maybe they can call the next patch "Vienna", which changes your Vista computer into a new Vienna system, complete with new themes, colors, bootskins, wallpapers, logon screens, dreamscenes (even for Basic and Premium), etc, etc.
