Start11 2.81: vertical taskbar buttons shift sideways as apps open/close

Windows Version Number: Windows 11 25H2, build 26200.9711
App Version: Start11 2.81 (2.8.1.0)

Please investigate a layout issue with the experimental left-side vertical taskbar.

Environment: Start11 2.81 (file version 2.8.1.0), Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.9711. Primary taskbar: Align Left (Experimental), enhanced taskbar enabled, Medium size. Start button configuration is Left aligned, hiding Start disabled, vertical centering Off. Icon size/button width/button height are defaults (24/44/40 px). Touch-mode detection is Automatic.

At startup or with few applications open, Start, Search and Task View shift right and become clipped or disappear outside the narrow taskbar. Other app icons remain visible and desktop shortcuts stay stationary. Opening more applications progressively moves the affected buttons back left toward their correct positions. Closing applications, including Start11 configuration, brings the problem back.

Reproduction: use the left vertical enhanced taskbar, start with few running apps, then open applications one by one and close them again. Watch Start/Search/Task View move horizontally as the number of running apps changes. Expected: those buttons remain aligned and visible regardless of app count.

Restarting Explorer did not provide a lasting fix. Force not touch mode device did not fix it; Automatic is restored. Both Windows and Start11 were already left aligned. Switching briefly to Center aligned and back to Left aligned also failed. Settings have been backed up. No downgrade, clean reinstall or bottom-taskbar comparison has been performed.

Could you investigate and provide a fix or workaround? If a previous official build is recommended for this Windows version, please provide its download and supported rollback procedure.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know which setting you're using for your Taskbar button? Always combine taskbar buttons? Sometimes combine? etc.  Perhaps, post a video so we could understand it better and try to reproduce it.

Thank you,
