System Specs: i7 7700K, Strix 970 4GD5, ASUS z270F Gaming, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x 8GB), Samsung 850 Pro 256GB, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (non sp1)
My old system's hardware stopped working so I had a fresh OS Install. Win7 Ultimate x64. I installed WB8.13
I did reboot after installing and yet it shows windowblinds doesn't appear to be installed correctly and changes my theme to basic XP and this happens ONLY when I apply a non-basic-aero related theme. All other modified aero related themes work ok. I also checked the windowblinds service, it's working fine, restarted it anyway, no luck.
Applying any other skin instantly changes theme to windows classic. Re-applying any theme then shows a message box saying "windowblinds doesn't appear to be installed correctly on your machine. Would you like to try fix this issue now?"
Saying Yes to that makes explorer.exe and dwm.exe with fault module name "WBlind64.dll_unloaded" and disables aero theme until I restart or logout and login again. Signature is BEX64.
As BEX is related to Data Execution Prevention, I used the cmd command: "bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff" and restarted, still no luck. Same thing happened but this time, configurator app also crashed along.
In "About" box, it says "Windowblinds is installed correctly but desktop window manager is NOT enabled".
Modified Aero is working with textures and explorer backgrounds. Any other non-default-aero related theme gives the same problem.
How do I fix this?
