Okay, so I have a Birthday coming up in a few days, in fact it's Dec 26th, yes the day after Christmas. I don't think I have ever forgiven my parents for that nice little gift to this day. I know, if they planned it to happen it just wouldn't have worked out. But all those Christmas's growing up knowing that one of my Christmas presents was always put aside for my Birthday. I know, live with it, that's life.
It will be my 60th Birthday. I will now finally be able to say to people that only half my life was spent in the Military or Government Service. It's also at a point in my life that I should have learned alot, but sadly I must say that like must members of the human race it seems I've learn so very little. If I had just been able to learn more I might have been able to pass on to folks how not to make the same mistakes as the previous generations did.
It seems each day we hear and read about the troubles of the World. Wars, crime, murder, hate, economic and financial troubles, political wrong doings, you name it, the list goes on. There are a group of folkss out there, and you know whom I'm talking about, that react to these things as if they never happened before. Just where have these people been? They sure as heck have never opend a History book and tried doing some reading. You know what the really amazing things is, the human race always seems to survive. There are lessons to be learned in those History books.
In the many years that I've been breathing I find that I'm still some what confused about several things. We just want through a Presidential Election here in the U.S., actually it was more like two years, two years that we won't get back folks. During the campaign we were all asked to make choices, Demorcats or Repbublican, Conservative or Liberal, left, center or right, male or female, and black or white. Talk about making the public confused. First question, whatever happened to being an American and voting for the best person? Like that will ever happen, we are talking polictics here. Second question, when did being a Politican became a career choice? Talk about your corruption is society, folks running for a polictical office willing to spend large sums of money to win an election for a position that pays a salary that won't cover thier debts. Hmmm I wonder if that's another example of a Bail-out Program. Oh yeah, guess who gives or donates most of the money, yup, that's some more of our money well spent.
Another thing that never changes is fixing the blame for the problems that mankind suffers from, as if that is going to make everything better. It's the aspirn rule, if you have a headache take an asprin instead of finding out was in giving you the headache. History folks, read and study it for the answers. Oh, if you are wondering who is to blame, look no further than the nearest mirror. Before anyone wants to take out the flame thrower I include myself as part of the problem. Lets face it folks, like it or not we are where we are because of us. There just is no one else to blame.
Yeah I know that I sound like a very unhappy person, but I really am happy. Everynight when watching the news I can't help but laugh. Then I sit back in the easy chair and watch reality TV. Tell me you don't have a good laught at that stuff.
This was an attempt at pointing out that the life each of us lives is really nothing more than a bad Twilight Zone episode. We are stuck in a never ending cycle folks. Does anyone of you have any thoughts on how we change the script? I sure would like a different ending. Something like, 'and they live peacefully and happily with each other'.
With my Birthday coming up and this being the Holiday season it seems right to finish this off with a wish. Here's one to ponder, I wish that whenever anyone thinks about doing something they ask one simple question, 'Will any harm come to Children?'. That one question crosses all Political and Religous boundries. It could just bring about the end to things like War, Drugs, Child abuse, just think of the possibilities. Something we all need to remember that we forget over time, we all started out as children, really, think about.
Yeah I know, the History books in the libraries around the world shows us that this little wish doesn't stand a chance. We just can't seem to change our ways or can we.
Take a moment and light a candle for the children of the world. They truly need our help.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year.
