Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

DreamScene Error

Multiple downloads meet with same error

By Posted May 18, 2008 03:18:07
I am receiving this error quite frequently with some of the .dreams I am downloading.

Can anyone help me figure out why?

My first thought is that I am in Iraq and for some reason the download is corrupting. But if that was the case wouldn't all my downloads corrupt? Not just certain ones at random?

What version of Windows Vista are you using and what are some of the Dreams that are giving you trouble?
Most Dreams are created from mpeg2 video files and need a codec to decode them.
Windows Ultimate and Home Premium come with this support built in, the others do not.

If this is the case, you can download a free codec from here.

VirtualDub is a small video editing program that will install mpeg2 support.

Hey thanks for the response CarGuy1. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate.

These are the dreams I am having trouble with.
ALeapOfFaith
CloudyValley
Impulse
MisolHa01
NetherEssence
NightDay
PurBluSmoke
PurpleThunderStorm w/Sound
SpaceClouds1
SpaceClouds2

Not sure of the Authors. I just know that once I download them and try to activate them I just get a blue screen and that error message pops up.

With Ultimate you should be ok for the built in mpeg2 codec. Not sure about all of those dreams but these 3 are mpeg2.
PurBluSmoke
SpaceClouds1
SpaceClouds2

You may still have a codec issue though as you could have one conflicting. To rule that out follow the steps in the MPEG-2 Video Codec section of the DeskScapes Troubleshooting Tips.
