Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

You'll need to upload your image to a hosting site like image shackWWW Link Than copy the link for the image and click on "insert image"(the little mountain icon) in the reply box and paste the url into it. Make sense?

We could be getting your question wrong batman123406.

Are you wanting to show a screenshot in a post or submitt a sreenshot for the gallery library? There's a tutorial on the WinCustomize Wiki that explains both. Check the following link. WWW Link

What Wizard1956 was explaining is for including a screenshot in a forum post. Hope this helps.

Yes, I was trying to submit my screenshot to the gallery here, but following directions from Philly0381, I still get an error from Wincustomize that says my skin file is missing.
I don't understand what that means since I am only submitting a preview screenshot and full screen shot.
May 10, 2008 01:06:12
just post the full screen shot - the gallery will auto size for the preview

only need a preview shot for skins and such

Okay, here is the exact error I receive after my files have transfered during a screenshot gallery submission:

Your skin has failed to upload.
When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted.

Who can tell me what is going on?

Did you populate all the fields?
The preview and screenshot field must both be populated (even if it's by the same file)
May 10, 2008 21:53:09
Yes, all fields are complete
May 10, 2008 21:58:53
This is what I do.
1. Get my screen the way I want it to look.
2. I hit Print Screen.
3. Open up paint and paste the screenshot.
4. I give the screenshot a name and save it as .jpg to a file of my choice in my documents.
5. Click on submit to gallery.
6. Select Gallery.
7. Screenshots.
8. Give a name of your liking.
9. Browse to the files location and upload it.
10. You can post comments or not and then at the bottom just hit submit.

It is very simple to post a screenshot into the gallery...

Dunno if this helps, but did you try sending the skin in a zip?

No need to zip a screenshot.

If you are trying here: http://www.wincustomize.com/upload2.aspx

When uploading a screenshot to the screenshot gallery...the same file [the actual jpg image] needs to be put in both the 'preview image' and 'screenshot file' sections of the upload window.

The small image that shows up in the gallery is generated by the site...so what you upload is the actual full-size image in both sections.

Make sure you are not trying to rename to 'jpg' a file which is in fact different, eg 'bmp'.  The jpg suffix is the file type...and can only be created by the graphic proggy used [in other words not by text-edit].

Limit 'names' of upload 'files' to alpha-numeric only....no odd characters such as ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + , etc....

Let us know if you get this resolved...

Zubaz, thank you very much!
The second link you gave me worked fine. Perhaps there would be more great screenshots
from people if they could upload them from the main page.
If anyone knows the Webmaster of this site, please drop him a note concerning the problem
I had.
Thanks to everyone for your time in helping me!!!!

The first link actually works more often for more people. . . and the webmaster is aware . . that's why the second link still exists.

Glad you got your shot in.
