Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Forums broken?

I've seen buttons pop in and then out again, saw something called Karma under the user names...I'm kinda curious about that one.

That was probably just Angie asserting herself as Big Dog except for Brad.

I'm curious if this forum is usually this "clunky". I am brand new to the Stardock forum; and, ever since I started using it, it takes a long time to add/edit posts with unusual issues....

Today, for example, I was barely able to create a new thread.. it took forever to post... a little while later, the forum shows that there's 1 reply made to my post; and even specifies the person who replied. Then, when I go to check the response.. there's no response. Is this due to unusually high utilization of the stardock forums?

I dunno... Maybe, maybe this is an inherent software issue with Stardock forum software? I don't see these kinds of problems with vBulletin forum software unless there's denial of service attacks or the forum is being over-utilized.

Anyone have any ideas whats going on? Maybe these symptoms happen during database maintenance?
