Help with Minimize

Hi All,

Hopefully a simple question. I have just signed up to object desktop after a few years away from it and I have a quick question about DesktopX (also applies to IconX) and the windows "Show the Desktop" functionality. Is there any way to prevent the DesktopX and IconX changes also being hidden. I would have thought that what I choose to show the desktop I would see the IconX versions of the dekstop Icons rather than the default windows versions and also if I set something within DesktopX to be at the desktop level then it too would still be available when I show the desktop using the quick launch button?

I thought this had been fixed with DX, but I guess not........ anyway here's an explanation of why it happens, and what ou can do about it.

"Show Desktop" does not minimize anything. What really happens is a full screen, borderless, explorer window, opens on top of everything.

You can use.

Winkey + M to minimize all
Winkey + shift + M to restore all

Or

Copy and paste the following into a text file and save it as ShowDesktop.vbs. Then create a new shortcut linked to this file.

Set Shell = CreateObject ("Shell.Application") Shell.MinimizeAll Set Shell = Nothing

and

Copy and paste the following into a text file and save it as RestoreAll.vbs. Then create a new shortcut linked to this file.

Set Shell = CreateObject ("Shell.Application") Shell.UndoMinimizeAll Set Shell = Nothing
