Folder portals stop working

hey so my folder portal for my downloads folder stop working sometimes. i cant refresh. i have to right click, then re select the downloads folder. this happens semi often, at least once a week or two. 

ok so i usually dont restart my pc, i go into sleep mode. about once a week or two ill actually fully power my pc down. i noticed this was the same frequency as the portal breaking. thing is, i usually dont observe the portal being broken till way later in some workflow. so i cant say for sure if restarting actually causes this. and i cant test atm since i have some stuff working rn. i simply noticed both restarting and portals breaking happen in a equally as often. just extra info just in case.
