IconPackager vs My Pictures Folder

For some reason no matter what I do i cant change the My Pictures folder to a different icon. I have done it before...im currently using the SnowE icon for the My Pictures folder...now I cant change it to anything else. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Devin

Doesn't the usual method work?..... Right click the icon, choose "Properties", and then "Change Icon". I could be wrong, but this is how I usually handle a stubborn icon.

It doesnt work on system default folders I dont think. I'm not sure how to change it. I know how to change the My Documents icon but not the My Pictures. Sorry about that.

If your using Icon Packager, Just launch IP, In the left menu select 'Icons & Cursors' now select 'Folder' from the toolbar menu and scroll down to the My Pictures folder and highlight it then browse for the Icon you want then hit Apply and OK...That should do it

I have found that sometimes you need to restore it to the Windows default one first to make it stick.

Hi

This is my first post in here. I came across this the other week and I think you will find that the icons react differently depending on how you access them.
If you open My Computer and follow the path down to wherever you keep your My Documents folder you will be able to change the icon. If on the other hand you open My Documents and right click, you won't be able to do it.

Don't know why this is but that's what I found. It happens with all the registered special folders (Pics, Music, Videos etc) as far as I can see.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Ade
