Glad it was you and not me! I tried eating squid once when I was dating a Greek girl in Athens, like chewing rubber!
If squid/calamari is prepared and cooked properly it can be quite tender and somewhat palatable. A Greek family I had befriended in the 70's owned a snack bar and they often invited me to stay after closing time for dinner. Their squid and calamari, among other Greek fare they served, was to die for it was that tender, succulent and tasty.
As for the lamb brains, in the skull or not... nope, no way. That is one thing I refuse to put in my mouth.
Don't like lobster or squid or clams but I do like shrimp and blue fish.
There's nought wrong with lobster.... nor crabs and other shellfish. I like pretty much all seafood.... just not divers that get caught up in the nets. It takes an eternity to get at the meat cos of those damned rubber suits.
