My heart always is deeply saddened deeply whenever I hear of a house fire. My former sister-in-law lost two young children in a house fire and she lost everything, too.... including her partner of 7 years. My brother helped her to start over again but she was never the same and the tragedy never left her, so I am aware of the devastation families go through after such an event.
My heart goes out to Harley and his family at this difficult time, as do my hopes and best wishes.
I would like to help financially, but sadly I am not in a position to do right now. Things will be tough for the next month or so with some big bills due in Nov and early December. This is never a good time of year for me, with almost as much going out in costs as I get in, and then there's the huge costs of sending money to the US from Australia.
Last time I sent money to help out somebody in the US, most of it was gobbled up by bank fees and charges the exchange rate.. At this end it cost me AUD$13.97 to send $20.00, and of the 20 bucks at the other end, the recipient got just USD$7.13. In other words, it cost me 34 bucks to send 7.... and I resent having to hand my charity dollars over to fechen banks/bankers.
Sorry about the rant, but if I could afford to help financially at this time, Harley would see very little of the amount sent, which annoys me because he needs it so much more than greedy bankers.
