nice update stardock

I'm sure you remember me, the one that has has problem with this program from day one.  I'm guessing you do not have an actual multi monitor system in which to test your software on.  you're latest 5.12 has totally screwed up my system to the point I'm not sure what to do.

 

1. install 5.12

2. lost my display configuration of eyefinity + extended desktop

3. reset

4. unable to restore any kind of eyefinity display.

5. physically disconnect 4th monitor.

6. unable to restore any kind of eyefinity display.

7. system restore.

8. unable to restore any kind of eyefinity display.

9. reinstall graphics drivers

10. unable to restore any kind of eyefinity display.

 

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY COMPUTER!!!  to think I paid you money for this!~ 

 

11...  going to bed totally defeated once again by stardock.  I guess games are the priority now...

Michelle911 ... the first requirement when seeking support for a program install [any program install] is to list OS and system specs, along with any 'potential' conflicting programs used.

Also, these forums are community-based support which sometimes may not afford assistance.  The correct procedure for Stardock Software Support  is via email to support@stardock.com .

Support will have several 'multi-monitor' systems with which to attempt to replicate your issue, but can only do so when appraised of appropriate detailed information.

I am sorry but it is unlikely WindowFX has anything to do with your issues.

WindowFX cannot reset your display configuration even if it wanted to.  It has no code for even changing resolution.  It also does not do any file replacement and when uninstalled it cannot be doing anything.  Even stopping the service and rebooting would stop it from doing a single thing.

Likewise if you continue to have a problem after a system restore (which by its nature will reset things to prior to the update...), then it is impossible for the update to be in any way related as a system restore is like going back in time.  If the OS is only seeing one monitor then odds are you have a faulty video cable, video card or monitor.

Many of the machines at Stardock are multiple monitor setups (single GPU, two monitors) and I have never seen a report anything like what you have just reported.

I am sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear and I can assure you that the update has undergone testing and that Stardock continue to develop apps.
