Transparency issues

I'm currently using the windows blinds trial (I think my brother bought it ages ago). I'm running windows 7, which I just did a fresh install of. My issue is with the transparency. Basically, I want the transparency of the taskbar like it is in the windows blinds preview picture. Now, I love windows blinds ALOT, but this is one of those issues that will forever bug me everytime I see it. Anyways, all help is appreciated.

open windowblinds and look for the transparency tab at the bottom of the screen.

I've never played with these settings but see if they control what it is you want to change.

I put my taskbar as low as it will get and it comes nowhere near what the preview looks like. If you look at the link I posted, compare the taskbar to the preview's (the picture has it with the transparency bar all the way down). It's almost like it has this texture on it, yet on the textures tab I have it set to none.

It looks like you are using Aero frames. To find out, open the Windowblinds Config, go to Settings on the top bar > Advanced Settings. Make sure "I want to use Aero Window Frames, but keep the rest of the skin" is NOT checked. Then go back to the Transparency and Blur and reset the blind to its original transparency. Hope this helps.

Did you redo your Windows Experience score? Last time I did a clean install, transparency did not work at all until I refreshed the score.

I have. My taskbar is transparent, but not like the preview. It has this texture about it, but in the texture tab, it's set to none. I've tried google'ing it, but have yet to find a solution.

I see in your Screen Shot you have EXPLORER BACKGROUNDS checked on

my Question now is Did you do something in the EB cause if so open it up and then click on RESET OPACITY LEVELS

and for good measures click on the DEFAULT Square to the left then click Apply Changes at the top left

if all went good the check by EB should go away.. If not...

IF you did NOT set anything in EB did you install any .reg files (as in clicking on any)

I know this one here (Disable Fullrow Select.reg) does play havoc on WindowBlinds EB

and the ONLY way to fix that one is 1) hunt down all the Reg hacks it did and well it don't work

so it's 2} re-install Windows.. this may go for other .reg hacks too...

I didn't change it, but I do see what you are talking about. Now, I'm not sure if that has any effect on the taskbar, but if it does, I didn't see any changes when I was just now messing with it.

As for .reg edit's, the only thing I did was this (in hope of getting the taskbar transparent) - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/14121-transparency-enable-full-clear-glass-transparency.html

I have put the default files back in the proper places, which should have (in sense) uninstalled it.

Just looked at your pic, then a quick test on my system. The trans you are getting looks right compared to what I got. Remember in WB config it is just a preview, the applied skin may not always be as the preview when you start tweaking WB settings.

I only started tweaking the settings after I saw the taskbar wasn't becoming the transparency I was wanting. Try it with other themes. Or ever other textures. You will notice it works with textures, but if you pick a texture with transparency, you see the same texture that you get as default underneath the one you chose. I don't know..almost seems like I'd have to tweak windows to fix this.

time to give up the trial and buy the regular version, that in itself could be part of the problem.
