OK, I got the lowdown on what has been going on. I'm not sure Larry would want any of it posted here, so I'll just say this.
The doctors ran a bunch of tests. The CAT scan turned up something, and they want him to get a MRI to determine what it is. The problem is that he has no insurance, and the MRI costs a couple thousand to do. He has to wait until he hears whether his medicaid application is approved before he can move forward with that.
They also found blockage in his heart, but not enough to do anything about. Proper diet and the right meds will prevent that from getting worse.
They STILL do not know why his BP keeps spiking dangerously high, but an MRI might reveal something the CAT scan didn't.
So for now, it's "take your meds" and "take it easy" until he can get financial help.
On a positive note, he did sound really good on the phone, and he is handling all this really well.
