Hi, well I haven't really fallen, more of a stumble. I received gmc2's gracious gift of my CS4, but, I alas, cannot open it. Yes, I know I said I love it. Nothings changed there, but the opening.
Here are my particulars... AMD Athlon (tm) 7750 Dual Core Proccessor, 2.70 GHZ Ram_4.00 GB (3.50) useable. [ram may be important, for lack of space?] Windows 7 Home Premium. Direct X11. Active X 64 bit. ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
I place my CS4 cd in my pc, go to my C:\ folder area and find my CS4 in DVD RW Drive (D:) automatically. Then I dble click PS setup but, instead of opening the page gets transparent? Or I get install with Adobe setup.exe. But, it doesn't work. I checked Tweak 7 and it said Adobe is awaiting input or hung? Then asks force termination? yes or no. I've tried downloading CS4 trials but, there are non. Only CS5 trials out there.... I'm at a loss. I've tried Everything. Does anyone know what I can do?
I have been doing alot of that. There is more to go I'm sure. My pc crashed a couple times. I'll watch that. I still haven't got Bridge going. But, on a fun side, I have spent a couple hours on a Ps tutorial about a Christmas ornament pic. When I have something to show off I'll hang the pic up. I am really jazzed. This is fun.
And honestly? Do you really need Bridge? I've got it and never use it.
HEY! Do you want to buy a Bridge....?
That Bridge gets around.
Talk about bridging that gap...

Bridge is very handy. It's like a file browser and organizer. If you are working with massive amounts of saved graphics, it is invaluable. There are updates to Bridge on the Adobe site. I would try updating it to see if that gets it going. I assume you had no problems registering and activating CS4? Good luck and am looking forward to your first big presentation!
As long as we're into stuff associated with PS I have a question. Image Ready. What is it used for? Every time I click on a .png Image Ready automatically picks it up.
Just want to give a peak. Not beauty. But, I'm getting familiar.
I'm impressed...using the pen tool...very good!
Yessiree, that and Gradients...... oh yeah, and some more gradients. Lots to learn. Fortunately for me I have the time.
Maybe moving out here wasn't such a bad idea after all. haha
(weird, I didn't try to change the color of my fonts?)
And I'm still struggling with the pen tool. Good onya IROKONESS.
Good on you, and your work being picked Uvah. It real sharp looking. Love the color.
And I'm gonna download some upgrades for Bridges now Frankief. Sure would be nice to get that going.
Uvah, check this out may help a bit. PenTool
Thanks DaveBax. I watched the video but its late and my battery is running down. In the morning I'll watch it again as I'll have more time. I did play with the pen tool for a bit but it was so confusing. I kept making lines I didn't want and didn't know how to get rid of. lol
I watched it to. Thanks
Hey IROKONESS. There a couple of good tutorial sites out there for Photoshop. One is called Pixleyes and another is PSTuts. I don't have the actual url's but if you Google them ... hold on a sec ... okay got one.
here's another ... http://www.psd.tutsplus.com
There a lot of 'em. lol
So here's the finished product. It's not Christmas, the ornament instructions weren't included. But, got some gradient layers goin on.
It is very a good Abstract piece IROKONESS. Keep practicing.
Colorful, but my taste runs more towards the first one.... keep at it! You're doing great!
Yeah, when I found out the Christmas balls weren't in the tutorial I thought I'd splash on some color.
