Gadget OPACITY Issue

I'm sure someone else has to have run into this, and has the answer.

 

I have a gadget that does not have a tray or a taskbar icon and it's Opacity has been set to 0.  So its invisible, loads at startup, and cannot be seen or moved or edited in any way. 

So the q is a simple one.. WHERE is this opacity setting stored and how the heck to i change it back to 100%?

I have looked for that setting to be setup via script object properties, but I doubt it is there.

IR, good idea.. will try that.. have to find where it puts the cache on a machine that doesnt have DX on it, just this gadget.

That won't work. Wizard1956 had this same sort of problem and Roscoe came up with the fix. Has something to do with a registry edit. Wizard is looking into it, it will be in one of his posts.

I'm not sure if it will apply in your case,as my problem was location,location,location but you may want to check out reply #16 on THIS thread. The trans setting may be saved in the registry as well.

IR, thats the whole issue, this is on a machine we use for our control system, and so i have no idea where to look for the cache, etc.  I did email support at SD, but have not heard anything in a over a week.

Hey Roman, have you tried to remove it from start-up thru msconfig, reboot then reload gadget to see if you can see/access it.

David, what OS?

I found the gadget cache on XP with no DX installed, and it contains a document called Preferences.xml.

This is what it looks like.

David, I was able to edit the XML file on 7 to make it all but vanish and then bring it back. You may need to show hidden files and folders to find it. Or unhide system files. Here is a link to the XML editor by Microsoft.

im not near the machine that messed up, its at the office and im not.  will look at it next week (if i make it back to the office before the equipment ships).
