This doesn't surprise me at all, The only real surprise is that it hasn't happened before. Pakistan and india should be boycotted by every sporting team worldwide until they get their acts together. But of course they wont because the almighty dollar is of more value than human life.

The Aussies pulled out of Pakistan....unfortunately the Sri Lankans did not.

I wouldn't be surprised if the world's second-most avid cricketing country is barred from International Cricket.

I remember when South Africa blotted its copy book and was kicked out....of Cricket as well as F1 [to name two].

Times change...things get better....but it may be a while for Pakistan.

Sadly I think it's more like...'First we'll f*** it, then we'll kill it.'...  'Cuz you know we'll really f*** almost anything whether it moves or not...

This attack on the Sri Lankan cricketers would have to be one of the most woeful and lowdown acts, and it does nothing to advance what is already as suspect agenda.   It may have harmed Pakistani cricket for a while, but this cowardly act has done more harm to their own cause and exposes them for what they really are... cowardly extremists with no regard for humanity and civilisation whatsoever.

It is truly a sad day for World cricket, in particular Pakistani cricket as New Zealand has cancelled its tour and others undoubtedly will boycott Pakistan for the foreseeable future.  Howver, the Australian and Pakistani cricket boards have reached an agreement to play a series of One-Day-Internationals at nuetral venues in the United Arab Emirates later this year, which can only be a good thing for cricket as a whole. 

It would be sad to see one of the great cricketing nations being deprived of international games because of the cowardly acts of others, so hopefully other cricketing nations will be able to see beyond this and still invite Pakistan to play, either at home or on nuetral ground.  Sports have had a habit of bringing nations closer over the years, and sportsmen/women have been among the best World ambassabors, also, so, in light of this trtagic event, let's hope that sport and common sense prevail.

I wonder if the host nation will start a fund to try and help those who have lost family members, or been injured and require care.

A great pity the महात्मा (Mahatma) was not learned from. I can only wish that the injured heal and the mourners know peace.

I'd also love to understand more about Cricket...the more I read, the more I become confused...guess it's like skinning.

India can host Commonwealth games with all safety. Cmon, even if you had a neighbour like pak, u won't be all secure.

And to be true, even US is still fighting them... Has US destroyed all taliban camps there over so many years? No. So, you can't say India is weak or incapable.

Alright Mumbai blasts was a failure but this was a wake up call too. And there are such cases in history of every nation.

Nope....not when they are in the midst of 'arguments' with Pakistan on their border.

Formula One won't be going there any time soon.... and there's already 'talk' about the C'wealth Games.

That is your opinion perhaps because you never came India... Ask from the Oz cricket team or the English.

For sports... you can confide with the security that will be provided.True, there have been a few blasts in recent times but more such materials have been seized on border. India is not blind, we care for our nation. Its only that peoplle need to be more aware of their surrondings for suspicious activities and they will learn this very soon.

What happened in Mumbai was an attack from outside, it wasn't planned in India, they came through sea and attacked but none of them could escape...nine killed one arrested.

When some intruders come, there are 99 percent chances that you will catch them but there are 1 percent chance when you fail.

India and US are their prime targets. They have planned to claim lives in 300 cities in the world.

India is more prone to attacks only because being nearer, it is within their reach. What if they got aircrafts or long distance missiles? No country will be safe then. So we will have to fight not boycottttt, Goldman!

Their camps are not within India. They are trained in tribal areas of pak... US is still destroying their camps since 9-11, you can see how tough it is. Its not video games and some online chat, its real liife where both sides are determined for good and bad reasons.

Hopefully one day we will overcome all these evil forces.

This is true not all people are bad there. The people are not responsible for whats happening, Its their officials, military and leaders who have seeded hatred in their hearts and misused the power. It is unfortunate that most of pak institutions are run by the barbaric military.

However, the people are incapable to stop all these. Its easier to say people can oppose them on paper but in practical you can't challenge people with AK-47 in hands. What they should complain when everything is crystal clear. To whom they would report. People there will have to fight another struggle for independence.They will have to realize it is not the way to go. What will they give to their future generations?

Pak needs foreign support but not the way US is giving to them. The money which US gives to them goes into terrorists hands. I think US should appoint its own people there or establiish organisations to do the development work. It might be against the law but its indispensable for the sake of Humanity... and it can be done with the $$$ that US hands over to pak and their officials and military pass it over to......
