OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection. You can get them below.
NOTE: most of these were created/cropped/edited by folks other than myself, so please give credit where credit is due
Additional Note: There are many more avatars scattered throughout the forum. I just posted the majority of them here. I have tried to include suggested pages to find more avatars by the various avatars if you want to look further. You can also use the "view edits" button if you're very very brave to view all previous versions of this main thread and the images where-in.
OFFICIAL ART AVATARS:(made from the official art of Elemental)
These were formatted by Spartan (me):
The following were formatted by Luckmann: (To provide karma; you can find his posts throughout the forum, especially on page 2 and 3)
(Elemental sub-sets: still by Luckmann)
Elemental Crystal Shards:
More art variants of 'official art' by Luckmann link: HERE
The following were formatted by landisaurus: (to provide karma; go pretty much to any page after page 2.)
He has also volunteered to make custom edited avatars for people who ask in exchange for karma. just PM him.
(these are kinda odd-ball ones created by Landisaurus using official art.)
More are scattered throughout the forums. Pages 4-7 in particular. They feature things like 'bear cavalry units' art and 'flying shark units' and other in-forum jokes.
The following were formatted by Wintersong: (to provide karma; Wintersong's submissions are mostly on page 8+. Page 8 to spot the first main batch)
This OP is under construction. Due to some browsing issues it is being completely reformatted and built from scratch. There are other user avatars and lots of additional avatars that are supposed to be here in the OP. Jalicos (page: 15) and eplekogen (page: 5) come to mind right away. They should have avatars in this OP soon. Of course wintersong has tons of avatars scattered throughout the web. its a work in progress tracking them down and sorting into 'official art' and 'unofficial art' especially since some of the old 'official' art did not match the current style as well as others.
We are busy people though, and editing this takes more time than one might think.
Unofficial art Avatars: (also coming soon... there are tons in the "view edits" below that should be resurrected up here soon)(these were not made with Elemental Art, but were inspired by Elemental: War of Magic and/or similar works)
Why don't these forums allow offsite linking? And why does it use flash to upload images?! Crazy!
Off site linking is often called "hot linking" and it is bad mojo to many people. Regarding the use of flash, it is a functionality thing that the forum designers decided to use - nothing more, nothing less. I would prefer that SD uses IPB personally but hey they are a software company so I guess they decided to create their own system.
can't decide which to use

Probably don't want inappropriate content made into avatars.
Awesome! Spartan, you're my hero.
Heh neat! Its a pity these avatars aren't retroactive.
I try to click the button to upload a image I even tried it with IE but nothing is happening it won't even click... I want to add the beast pic.
Edit I see the bug report of it, I probably have Flash 10
finally decidd on one
Shame I love my odd reference to an obscure Sweedish indie band so much. That's some nice work there. I should probably switch to a bigger avatar, though, but this one looks great on the sins forums.
You should download firefox and do it that way then. I dont think flash 10 is part of the default package yet.
@ The rest - your welcome guys. I figured I would do what little I can to help the dev team out. Maybe they will make some official avatars and put them on the website in the media section.
@Tamren - yes they are. Just empty your cache.
I think it is now, or I installed it... I don't know when they fix the flash 10 problem I will do it, it's not worth reinstalling Firefox.
done, done and done!
Know what drives me nuts? People who use the same avatar. I already have three of you mentally filed under "castle guy", and that just won't do. Imagine if this catches on! I might actually have to remember names!
Still, it's good to spruce the place up a bit. These look really nice.
No doubt. To make things easy on you, just think of people that use the same avatar as part of the same faction.
BTW: Your avatar is pretty nice.
Dreamers unite! Mwahahaha.
Thanks! I made it in a hurry as soon as I saw the concept art, because I figured everyone was already furiously copy/pasting their own. I guess I didn't need to rush quite so much. Didn't plan on adding my name, though; I just couldn't stand the empty space in the corner.
Maybe I'll make some more avatars, using the rest of the concept art. And now that I think of it, a border around the edges would be nice...
Cool. I was thinking of doing the same with the none medallion resources but I wanted to wait and see if the devs were already working on some.
Thanks for the Avatars Spartan.
Really like the first one!
Excellent work, Spartan. What program are you using, Photoshop?
I've got the hobby of making avatars every now and then, and if at all possible, any chance I could have the base file w/ layers, for any of these avatars? I'd like to rip the border, since it fits these boards so perfectly.
If you want to make sure please feel free. Hell I'm so much an artist as I'm a ripper. So if you make some stuff please post them to the thread. I'm glad you like them, now about showing some love and doing that karma thing...
And, of course, Totally slipped my mind, the first time around.
Edit: And I only now realized that what you did was a resize of the images at https://www.elementalgame.com/lore.asp. D'oh!
Edit: Aaaand, I'm done with my first one, of about 3 or so. I'm just going to post it to check it against the background and compare to the others, before I make all of them.
Edit: Removed the old image, and going to run another test against the background and comparing to originals.
Edit: And removed all the old comparison images, aaaaand here is the finished results, enjoy. I'm going to go right ahead and claim the footman for myself.
And Karma is always nice.
