I don't understand why you care, I've been on these forums for years, and my point specifically was that I HAVE EARNED KARMA....why are you being mean to people on here...??? I've done nothing to you...and I don't appreciate your attitude...
I care because; 1. I wrote the system. 2. I'm the primary developer on
the forums. 3. I'm a Stardock Employee and I care about the
community(ies) we run.
This speaks fairly loudly to the issue of users
expecting things. Karma is intended to be handed out by other users who feel its warranted. Users must view your participation and choose to award you Karma if they feel it's appropriate. It's not up to you (or even me, if I am doing the posting/replying) to decide whether you (or again, I if in context) deserve or have earned it. I don't expect anyone to give me any Karma points for this reply. Though a user may choose to. The basic point is that it's not your call as to wether or not you've earned it, it's up to the community and individual user.
Take a step back for a minute and examine what has been posted in this thread. No one is being mean to you, giving you a negative attitude, scolding you or speaking to you with ill intent. Least of all myself. The worst possible thing you can do on the internet is apply tone to text. It's always a good idea to ask for an explanation of intent or an elaboration on a point if you feel that you may not understand its context or reasoning.
This is the last that I'm going to reply on this post. Again on behalf of everyone replying in this post, I apologize if you
feel upset by the reaction, singled out in any way or insulted. Please
understand that was not the intent. I feel I've explained myself fairly well and explained that posting asking people/the community to give you Karma is not something we want to see and that it defeats the meaning of it.
