Is it just me, or does Office 2007 not like images? When working with Word on my website, calendars, icons, whatever, I observe WINWORD.EXE every now and then in Task Manager, and upon saving, WINWORD tops up around 250 MB of system memory, when it normally takes up around 20-30 MB for a blank document. Upon building my calendars, I have about 40 some images loaded on the same page! The whole page is made up of images. But what I don't understand is that intermittently, I see WINWORD spike up in memory usage, such as 89 MB, 94 MB, 111 MB, 130 MB, and it keeps going up until around 250 MB, sometimes more, then it drops down to around 80 something megs again. One time, I saw it top out at around 750 MB (that's half of my system's RAM, for one freakin' process!!!) I have a screenshot to prove it, on my PC.
I don't know if it's Vista, Office, Image Overloading, or what? But this memory spiking is on my nerves. Not to mention that it temporarily freezes the PC (not just Microsoft Word) for about 45 seconds after every 2 minutes. I know that Word is a bad choice for images, but it's so easy to use. What should I do?
