When I first bought a new hp widescreen laptop and vista ultimate os (April 07) I was quite disillusioned/disappointed and over the last 5 months have reported 126 problems with the os and complete package. I bought a program called "driveragent", ran the scan and was surprised that 60% of my drivers required updating! It took 5 months to work it all out between Microsoft, HP and Nvidia, but now I am almost completely happy with Vista. With the exception of FX, which I can't use to date, things are great and look forward to many years of enjoyable computing. I am an American engineer building roads and bridges on the southern border of China, which is not the most accessible region to figure out these problems, but have patience it will all work out in time.XP wasn't perfect when it came out. I read this endless lists of complaints you all have on these forums and wonder why so much emphasize is placed on complaining. Read the tutorials, do the updates - you know what they say "when all else fails, read the instructions"!
