Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

New Subscriber Intros

Let us know who you are.

By Posted October 19, 2005 18:15:21
Just an idea to throw out there....what with the subscription drive going on.
How about a Sticky for new SUBSCRIBERS to intro themselves. You see this on a lot of the sites out there. Something to give people a way to kinda ease into the community without having to worry about stepping on toes or feel like they're intruding into threads, etc.

That kind of post might be able to catch up to Xaltec's "Word Association" fairly quickly.

So for you noob SUBSCRIBERs post a little something about yourself. You know....real name, bank account & credit card numbers, SSN, home address, etc. (just kidding)

Thanks Tycus, Stargazing, and Moderator CerebroJD. Sorry I didn't keep up yesterday but I've been working toward deadlines on three different projects for noon today and watching Wilma for any slight shift north in projected path.

I'm Mike. I do Civil Engineering for Land Development in Central Florida. I've been chained to a desktop computer ever since there was such a thing and I am a customization addict. (But that's for another thread)

Hi everyone, my name is Todd and I am from Alberta, Canada. I have been coming to this site for years and today I finally signed on as an Object Desktop subscriber. The creative talent on here is incredible! I have been enjoying coming to this site and downloading mainly themes for Windowblinds and Icon Packager and today was the day that I decided to join as a paid member. I know, I should have a LONG time ago, but better late then never. Best $49.99 ($60Cdn) I have spent.

Hi Geoff, Welcome in. You've got a lot of company with quite a few from the UK here. Watch out for Fuzzy Logic. Green blood, pointed ears...you'll recognize him. Not sure what the US equivalent of a sprayer is. At home it's usually a male cat.

Hi to you too Todd, I'm from Florida, so I have a lot of experience with Canadians. Glad you made the plunge. Now that you have all the software follow Hog56's lead and start skinning.

I look forward to seeing contributions from you both.

Welcome Todd! Welcome Geoff!

Your blood will be flowing chameleon green soon.

Assume sprayer = paint sprayer.

I would hope so. The cat thing doesn't seem like an adaquate career.

Hi, I am Brad, a 43 year old junior high teacher of Spanish and beginning Web design. Part of the design class deals with creating graphics and such. We use Fireworks and when I found this site in April I had my advanced students create some OD icons for the school computers (I absolutely love OD). They do a pretty decent job after being taught by an artisticly challenged person. My students who joined here are Oswaldorojos2010, Gordon24, Macrophage, and Stevenmel.

I am always looking for help with teaching my students. If you know of any tutorials that can be done with Fireworks (I've found some by googling) or where to get ideas on what to teach them, I would love to hear about it. I subscribed because I see an honest company with good people that provide a great environment for sharing and learning. Thanks so much.

I would also appreciate any comments (suggestions) on the stuff I submit so I can get better and hopefully teach better.

Thanks all!

Hello!
My name is Lotta and I am from Sweden. I have been a member both to OD and a WC-subscriver for 2-3 years and I love it!!! I can't do skins and such things, yet anyway. I try sometimes but when I look at all your great work I just download and enjoy! But I'll keep trying and here and there I pick up some good ideas. I must say you all skinners are so kind and helpfull, when I read this forum I often find some good thing, and then I try again!
It's the best spending money I ever done when I get a member here!

Wow, I almost forgot to check this thread today.
Where to start?

JoneP welcome to WC. There's a lot help to be had with photoshop around here. Post you questions in the Personal Computing Section. The pros here will be glad to help. I use Paint SHop Pro so I can only recommend tutorials.

SIXX21 we're glad your here. Since your married I offer my pat responses to my wife "at least I'm not visiting porn sites" & "no I don't love my computer more than you, but I haven't programmed IT to nag me"

M1STER8 welcome to you and your students also. My wife's a high school math teacher, currently on sabatical to home school our son. I have nothing but respect for teachers. If people were actually paid based on their value to society you'd be among the wealthist on the planet.

Hi again Great Sphynx, thanks for introducing yourself here. I'm glad your enjoying the community. We're happy to have you.

Hello cammils, glad you've joined us. Thanks for the sunshine. You seem to radiate it. On behalf of those who actually did the work your very welcome.

Thanks for introducing yourself Lotta. We're glad your a member here too. You've been here long enough to know all you need do is ask for what you need.

I feel like I've been glode trotting.....from London to the US, to Rio De Janeiro, to the Phillipines and back around to Sweden. What a community!
