Can someone explain why the download speeds of anything from the Stardock website is consistently slow ? In fact downloads run at an injured snail’s pace. I can download from China through the firewall faster than I can from Stardock.
As I understand it, Stardock is based in the US? It can’t be a bandwidth issue sure so why such low speeds in 2025 ?

Sometimes the problem can be more local, so check all's as it should be at your end.

Thanks - I checked the previous link you gave - it was about twelve months old so it seems nothing has been fixed or improved since that previous post. I have a fast (1 gbps) download speed so the Stardock download speed is very noticeable. It is what it is I guess but it sure seems very strange to seemingly be back at dial-up modem speeds . Even posting in these forums takes a noticeable wait time to go through.

The only thing I can tell you sort of echoes my friend pelaird...over the past twenty plus years, I've found the occasional wait to be truly worth it...both because of the folks here, the folks at Stardock and the art. Frankly? I couldn't do without them.
From what I understand — and I could be wrong here — it looks like there might be some speed caps in place to help protect Stardock’s servers. I suspect it’s a precaution after the network issues we all experienced a few months back. Just sharing what I’ve picked up, but take it with a grain of salt!

Came here from my post here as I've been having this issue for over a year, well before the "incident". I also encounter adding new posts taking several minutes to complete.
