Single Click in a Fence

Windows standard for left mouse clicking is double clicking.

I use mouse over to open a fence and the possibility of single clicking icons would be great.

Unfortunately that's not helpful. If I enable single click behaviour in Windows explorer I generally limit my options of selecting files (i.e. selecting one then adding others with CTRL+click).

Since Fences is a productivity tool meaning to enhance the controlling options on your desktop (i.e. by replacing the multiple tastbars which were there until Windows 10) only a single click option which is limitied to fences would complete the job.

Given that these requests exist since 2011 (at least) I cannot understand why this important little feature is constantly ignored, being answered with the same old Windows practise hint over and over again.

I've noticed that many users tend to confuse Fences with an application launcher, when it's actually designed as a desktop manager and organizer.

Unlike launchers like ObjectDock or other dock-style apps, Fences doesn't replace or override how you launch programs—it works with your existing Windows desktop setting to help you stay organized.

So yes, the behavior of the Windows desktop is still closely tied to how Fences functions. It’s all about managing your icons and layout, not launching apps.

I have been using "Single-click" for years. To select multiple files, either contiguous or non-contiguous, you just highlight the icons without clicking. It saves you hundreds of clicks every day.
