If you’re interested, getting it isn’t easy.

You have to go to Piriform’s Google Plus profile page and join the community.

You can find that here:

You’re not done yet. Now you have to go to the store page and click on “become a tester”.

However, when I clicked on the link (from gHacks), I got this message:

Sorry, there is nothing to see for you here.

This could have several reasons:

  • The app you are looking for doesn't exist
  • or
  • there is no testing program going on
  • or
  • you are not eligible to participate in the testing program.

If you received the link to this page from someone, we recommend you contact this person for more information.

I’d add another reason:

  • The app you’re looking for has been removed because it’s broken.

The beta being offered didn’t work…so it’s probably back in the shop getting a make over.

According to gHacks, the app (while it was up) needed improvements in the scanning and cleaning processes, as well.

So…if you see ads for it, be prepared (in the meantime) to be disappointed. Someone once said something about wanting to be on the cutting edge and bleeding.

Also…the name CCleaner is a very respected one and should be treated that way: It should have been tested better before release.

I’d advise waiting until the RTM is ready to go. In the meantime you have the Android Cleaner app, here:

just saw that one of the main features is "cleaning" the app cache.

people should better think twice before doing that.

first of all, Android is not Windows. Android cleans the app cache itself if the space would be required (so that's similar bullshit as "memory cleaning" for Windows).

second, if you remove something from the app cache you'll have to download it again and this will not only make your user experience slower, but also, depending on your data plan, more expensive.
