Well, fortunately, they were able to "jump start" me back into rhythm.
I have Atrial Flutter.
Lisa's hospital ER gave me some fluid, thinking I might be dehydrated. When that didn't work, they gave me some Adenosine. Tried to stop my heart, then have it restart in rhythm.....it didn't stop.
The heart rate dropped to around 120, but came right back up to 170.
So, they shipped me out to a different hospital a few towns over.
So, they gave me some Cardizem which dropped the heart rate to 79, then they started a Cardizem drip. And some Heparin too.
This morning, they did a transesophageal echo to check for clots, found none, so they did a cardioversion and converted me into rhythm.
In a month, they'll do a cath on me and go in and "kill" the offending part of my heart, to permanently fix the problem.
Seems I have an electrical problem.
After some begging, they cut my visit a day short, considering I live with an ICU nurse. So, I am home.
Gonna be doing Metoprolol and Xarelto.
Was a scare for us, sorry if I scared yall.
