Problems with Win8

Nothing opens

This just started. On the start screen when apps are clicked nothing will open. Not apps or Netflix or videos...nothing. Please help.

Windows8 or 8.1 ? Is Windows activated ? Are you Admin ?
Make a reboot
Open up START
Now open Store app if there is a main problem with an app it will automatically launch the troubleshooter or give you a troubleshoot option

Win 8.0...did a reboot and opened up start. Is that the MS store app? Clicking or right clicking does not open the troubleshooter. All it does is give you the option to uninstall or remove from start page. I have the MS store on line but that is of little help. I'm at MS.com and it says to click on store on the start page. Did that and it opens then goes right back to the start page. What is going on?

Yes its the green Store thingy normaly you do major updates via the store.


Are you Admin on your system ?
Is windows activated ? and are you logged into your MS account hotmail account ?
If your not logged into your acount MS store will not work.
If you are no Admin there will be no troubleshoot...under Store that is what the MS page says... ( dont know if thats true...)

Is it only the store that does not work or other apps aswell ?
Check if your system is properly activated Uvah...

Roloccolor...its Susan's machine and I have Administrator privileges. Win8 is activated and there is no hotmail, she uses gmail. Did google search and it pointed me to a diagnostic tool from MS. The solution actually came from a place called ITWorld. The tool was a suggestion and it said the security settings had been changed and to check UAC. Did that and the settings were unchanged. It further suggested doing a system restore which I did and that solved the problem.

hehe ok   glad it works sometimes windows is strange but would be nice to know the actual problem sometimes than just having a tool that fixes stuff..
