For the victims of friends and family’s dreaded phone call, “Help me, my computer’s broken!”.

Emsisoft is a well known and reputable security software developer. You can trust this. It should be on a “Rescue USB Drive”. It’s also free for private use.

It has:

1. Emsisoft Emergency Scanner which has been improved.

2. Emsisoft Hijackfree which allows you to manage all the active processes (services, drivers, autoruns, open ports, etc.) and helps advanced users to remove all kinds of malware. If you can’t, you can resort with 1 and 2 to Emsisoft’s Support Forums and get help.

3. Emsisoft Blitzblank which assists in removing infected files, registry entries and drivers at boot time before Windows loads and malware can activate self defense mechanisms.

So, you don’t have to install it and leaves no trace.

Also, updating the tool is fast as well.

You can see screen shots and read more about it here: Link. The download link is in the banner.

Thanks for posting this Doc.

Emsisoft software has been part of my 'techie-toolkit' for years along with fast cloud-scanners like Hitman Pro etc.   I absolutely agree that people should make themselves a USB stick with this 'emergency toolkit' software on it.   Invaluable.

I've been using this for about 4 months now and it's great to have in the toolkit.

If you haven't checked it out yet Doc, take a look at HitmanPro Kickstart  Here
Just started using it in the fight against Ransomware

Quoting Daiwa,

Just copy the .exe to the flash drive & run from there?

Run the .EXE, let it extract the needed files somewhere and then copy the contents of that folder to a USB stick

Would add HitmanPro to the stick as well.

@the_Monk - Thanks for picking up my slack. Was out and away from the 'puter.
