I agree with "RND" and "Doortech1", being able to see ratings and names in the old version of Windowblinds was a real bonus. I installed it and was a bit disappointed with the new interface. The problem I had though wasn't with the interface at all.... I actually had to uninstall the new version because they advanced the programs abilities to where parts of certain skins features were now being applied to the non-skinned app Photoshop. I had my menu bar taken over by gradients and transparency to the point I couldn't use the app at all.
I don't know if anyone else had expierenced this but after trying to exclude Photoshop from being skinned, the problem got even worse. After exclusion, each time I opened up a Photoshop file there was all the layers being visible but no display of the graphic in the main viewing window. My work all went to a complete standstill until I did some research after unloading the new version, going back to windows aero, opening up Photoshop again I was grateful that Photoshop was working fine again.
For now, I'm back to using version 7.41.... I had another problem that was much worse than windowblinds new version happen to me. What I first thought was my monitor going bad because all of my red colors had changed to bright orange actually has turned out to be a failing graphics card and I have a new one of those coming by UPS next week. Because I thought my monitor was going out last week I now have a new one of those, I'm actually going to make a new post in this section about the newer technology coming out in monitors called "IPS". Let me just say that the difference between non-IPS and new IPS monitors is like going from standard definition TV to HD TV. After tuning on this new monitor for a week and adjusting it's display properties, I found that Windows 7 Media Center actually has a delicate animation in it's buttons that I had never seen before. Those darn buttons are actually animated with a hue, gradient and brightness change and that was all done back in 2009 when Windows 7 came out.
I'll taunt the advantages of IPS technology in the next post in this section, for now my display still shows all bright red colors as orange until my new graphics card gets here.
