Big ass storm headed for the east coast. Combination Hurricane sandy, expected to make landfall somewhere in Jersey, a huge arctic blast and another one. Could be a mess.
I think this is why I'm living in New Mexico......
But I have relatives on the East coast so....hope it is not as bad as they are predicting.
I will keep an eye on this and say a prayer for my family in Virginia. We got our first real snow last night and awoke to about five inches here in Colorado and more is predicted for tonight. However, at the moment it is sunny and a chilly 30 degrees! Last week we saw 80 degrees.

Mother Nature is pissed off......
Last week we got something called 'blood rain'. Rain mixed with desert sand - Sahara sand.....
Mind you, I live 2600 km away from Sahara.
Oh... and first snow just fell tonight.
The winter storm that socked California is going to mix with Sandy and the arctic blast. Going to be an interesting few days to say the least. On the bright side......I will not be out in it this time around. Yay me!
Was just watching hurricane chaser program on the weather channel... they had a pic I recorded, and I could swear I see a Frankenstein face in those clouds.
Just pulled this off NOAA's website. Noter the position as of 2pm Tuesday. West Chester is a little bit to the southwest of the white dot.
I swear I can see it here too!
We get Sahara dust most every year.....has to cross the entire Atlantic to get here. Must be pretty light stuff.
No real obstacles getting across the Atlantic though.Have to get passed/over the Alpes to get up here.
But yeah, light weight stuff indeed.
Last track I saw on this storm it was heading directly for Washington D.C. area for sure and should be there about 1-2am on October 30th. It just killed 21 people in the Caribbean.

I sure hope it dies out before then, I have relatives in that area.
Doppler image showing the winter storm heading in from the west. Sandy is on the bottom.
I grew up in PA, just across the river from Trenton, NJ and lived two years on the Gulf Coast of FL so I know what those folks are getting ready for. I like New Mexico.
Here's an animated .gif of Sandy.
Update...of sorts. Frankenstorm is expected to make landfall in southern Jersey with one official saying that with factoring in all the elements the storm is comparable to a Category 4 hurricane. Estimated diameter of 800 miles and big enough to affect one third of the US from the Ohio Valley to the coast. A full moon and high tides are a major concern because of the storm surge and get this...Sandy will actually make landfall twice. It'll bounce off the coast of the Carolinas, figuratively speaking, then head north, make a hard left and slam Jersey. I like storms but this one...scary!
Well aware of this thing being in southern NJ and don't like it very much.
Told my niece that she and her husband should get out of town as they live in Maryland, but noooooooooo... she already told her Mom they would "weather it out".
I'd leave. Sandy is getting a little too unpredictable! One report says Atlantic City could be ground zero.
My uncle in N.C. say the storm is turning out to be a frankenweenie storm...they got nothing so far.
This doesn't look like a frankenweenie to me. I could get slammed over here!
Update:
Sandy is within hours of landfall. New estimate on maximum sustained winds is up from 75 to 85 mph. Storm surge could be as high as eleven feet or as low as two. Best guesstimate is about 4 or 5. Will come later with more. If I'm still up....online that is. lol
