Several 3D Apps for Free - Bryce 7 Pro, Hexagon, and DAZ Studio

By on February 3, 2012 9:49:26 PM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize ForumsExternal Link

I got an e-mail tonight that I wanted to share with our artists here on WC.  It seems DAZ is giving away 3 of their 3D applications for free until the end of the month.

  • Bryce Pro 7
  • DAZ Studio Pro
  • Hexagon

http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d/free-3d-software-overview?home_5_btn=start

I haven't had the chance to fully check it out, so let me know if it goes through.

It's true. Free. FREE! However, very long download. Must register of course. Free is a good value though, thanks ID.

Quoting Old Crab,
However, very long download

Around 500 kb/s ... it is not so bad...

Quoting Old Crab,
Must register of course

If you have ever buy some DAZ product, or download some freebies, or being members of their forum, or ... simply register with your usual account...

Quoting Old Crab,
Free is a good value though

Well, in these case, the freebies are worth almost 1000$ !!!

I've been buying models from them for 6 years, and have never had any real problems with their customer service.  They have some scifi models for sale too that you can use with DAZStudio or Poser.

February 4, 2012 12:20:54 PM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

I'm already registered with them so getting Hexagon 2.5 was a piece of cake. 150.00 USD for free!

February 4, 2012 1:27:19 PM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

Right now they are not accepting any new registration; no confirmation emails are being sent out.

Thanks for the alert Island Dog! Been wanting to try my hand at digital art for some time now.

Registered and was confirmed with no problems. Have until 02/09/2012 to download.

They usually don't have anyone in the office on weekends, and the response on the deal has been so heavy the server was dragging its knuckles yesterday.  If you're having trouble registering, might want to try again Monday.   Not too early though, they're on Mountain Time.

Quoting Donfield,
I've been buying models from them for 6 years, and have never had any real problems with their customer service.  They have some scifi models for sale too that you can use with DAZStudio or Poser.

Well, i have begin use them since the previous century... plenty of package from DAZ and Renderosity... only regret that i have only download package for poser and not DAZ on Renderosity ( missing all the Ds files )...

For newbies, once registered on DAZ, go to http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/free-3d-models?cat=382 for some more free product... plenty of tutorial but some well know model like victoria 4 or Michael 4... around 50 freebies...

You can register on renderosity too and go to http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/index.php ... over 27000 freebies for Poser, Daz, 3Dmax, Blender, Bryce, Hexagon, etc ...

A other good place with a huge amount of freebies only is http://www.sharecg.com/ ...

Now that you have the software and plenty of freebies content, time to awaken the artist who sleep in you !!!

THANKS for this info ID!

I had the 7 PLE edition that they gave away last year, and had purchased 6.3 from them way back. The PLE edition had some limitations and did not come with the content, materials, or Lightning.

Sweet.

Nice find.  Daz does this periodically but it's pretty infrequent and hard to catch if you aren't a regular with them.  Thanks Dawg.

Quoting RedneckDude,
Nothing I downloaded had an extension except Bryce Content 7.0

Simply add a ".exe" at the end of the filename... not really a problem...

February 5, 2012 5:14:25 AM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

Thoumsin is right I added a .exe to the end of each and they worked fine.

reminder (downloaded no problems)

Nice of you to share this with us Island Dog ...all seems to be downloading just fine right now, and at relatively good speeds too!

Thanks muchly!

Edit:

Confirmation & emails with the serials were sent immediately. No waiting here...

February 5, 2012 10:35:42 AM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

I finally got it to send me a confirmation email by selecting the reset password option.   4 attempts and only one confirmation finally showed up.

February 5, 2012 10:45:25 AM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

Quoting Thoumsin,
Nothing I downloaded had an extension except Bryce Content 7.0

I got content for Bryce and Daz Studio but three of them want serials and I only got serials for the main programs.

February 5, 2012 10:51:22 AM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

I haven't finished downloading yet, but perhaps the content downloads use the same serials as the program they're for?

Just guessing...

Edit (again):

Download the pdf files too ...instructions inside

February 5, 2012 10:58:12 AM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

Just finishing downloading Bryce Content and that'll be the lot.

I'm guessing at this point that I don't have to install these programs immediately. That would be preferable for me as I'd rather wait and install them on my next rig so I can have Windows and all my programs on one SSD. Steam and some games are taking up quite a bit of space at the moment, and they'll be on their own SSD on the next rig.

February 5, 2012 11:43:11 AM from WinCustomize Forums WinCustomize Forums

Just click on the " Download for Free "  then you BUY them ( all Free )

then go into your Daz account and download the .exe files from there ( it's Fast )

also your serial numbers are there in your account for the programs

and they send you an e-mail with the serial #'s and a toll-free phone# if you need help

even with some files being really large I downloaded ALL the PC versions in less than 20 mins.

Thanks for this Island Dog.  I got everything DL'd and installed.  However, the plugins which are supposed to auto activate with the pro version won't activate yet.  I followed the instructions in the PDF help file but no luck yet.

Anyone else get the plugins to register and activate?
